Soy Milk – Is it a Healthier Choice over Dairy Milk?

What are the health benefits of soy milk?

Soy milk contains healthy amounts of protein and also a good source of fiber.

An important substance that can be found in soy milk is isoflavone.  Because of this, doctors recommend women who are undergoing menopause to take soy milk for these chemicals are said to be like estrogen hormones.

Aside from the important protein and minerals, soy milk can prevent a variety of diseases like certain cancers, osteoporosis and heart disease.  Isn’t it great that a simple drink can prevent future health concerns?

Is soy milk the alternative drink for you?

Although soy milk can have a lot of health benefits, one must take note that soy milk is not exactly skim milk that is free from milk fat.  Would you believe that soy milk can actually contain a little more fat than dairy milk?  The good thing is that it does not have the cholesterol that is present in ordinary milk.

Another thing is that, soy milk does not have the calcium content that is available in dairy milk.
